We help offices keep the access control that works — and upgrade it.
GateStride adds phone unlock and exit tracking to the system a building already has, so small and mid-size companies stop paying to replace hardware that was fine, and finally know who is still inside.
Why GateStride exists
It started with a quote. Our own office runs a Kantech access-control system that had worked reliably for years. It felt dated — cards, no phone access, no idea who had left the building — and the proposal to fix that was to rip it out and replace it with a new platform: new readers, new controllers, new wiring and a new subscription for every door.
The hardware was fine. What was missing was software. So we built the missing parts on top of the system we already had: phones that open the door, and a record of who leaves without anyone swiping out. That became GateStride. Our own office is our first installation, and Kantech EntraPass is our first GateStride Verified integration.
Who is behind it
Tom Jin
Founder
Tom has spent two decades building software for small and mid-size businesses. GateStride came out of his own office facing a rip-and-replace quote for a Kantech system that still worked — and the conviction that most offices deserve an upgrade, not a demolition.
How we work
Keep what works
Your readers, controllers, locks and fire release stay exactly as they are. We read events and call the system’s own unlock; we never sit in the path that lets people out.
Honest about status
Each integration is marked Verified, In development or Planned. Verified means we tested it on a live system ourselves; it is not a manufacturer certification.
No invented numbers
We don’t publish made-up statistics, reviews or customer logos. Costs we quote are sourced; the calculator uses your own figures.
Integrators first
We are a software company. Licensed local integrators install and service the doors, and the customer relationship stays theirs.
Privacy by default
Phone credentials and non-biometric person detection by default. Facial recognition is optional, off by default, and only where legally compliant.
Independent
We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any access-control manufacturer. Product names on this site belong to their owners.
Where we are today
GateStride is in early access. It runs on our own office’s Kantech EntraPass system, and we are taking a small number of pilot customers and integrator partners. LenelS2 OnGuard and Brivo integrations are in development; Honeywell, Software House and HID are planned.
