End of sale is not the end of the road
“End of sale” means you cannot buy new units; the product is usually still supported for years. “End of life” means support has ended. In both cases the usual first step is a like-for-like controller swap inside the same software — not a new platform. Before accepting a rip-and-replace quote, separate the hardware question from the features you actually want, such as phone unlock and knowing who has left, which GateStride adds as software. Then compare both routes in the savings calculator.
