These terms govern your use of gatestride.com (the “site”), operated by GateStride LLC (“GateStride”, “we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

1. The site is information, not professional advice

The site provides general information about access control, including system reference pages, compatibility status, end-of-life information, city pages describing licensing, codes and privacy laws, comparisons with other products, and a savings calculator. This information:

  • is not engineering, legal, life-safety, fire-code, insurance, tax or financial advice, and does not replace advice from a qualified professional, your installer, or your local fire marshal or building department (the authority having jurisdiction);
  • may be incomplete or out of date: manufacturers change products, prices, licences and lifecycle dates, and laws and codes change;
  • includes estimates: calculator results depend entirely on the figures you enter and are not a quote or a promise of savings;
  • describes compatibility only as stated on our compatibility list, which may change; a system being listed does not mean it will work at your site.

Before relying on anything on the site, confirm it with the relevant manufacturer, your integrator, the authority having jurisdiction or your own advisers. No advice or information obtained from the site creates any warranty.

2. Our products are governed by separate terms

GateStride software is an add-on to a customer’s existing access-control system and is provided only under a separate written agreement. Nothing on the site is an offer to sell, a warranty or a commitment about any product, feature, integration, availability or price. GateStride is in early access; features and availability may change. GateStride is not a security, alarm, emergency-notification or life-safety system, and the site does not describe one.

3. Trademarks and other companies

“GateStride” and our logo are our trademarks. Other product and company names on the site, including those of access-control manufacturers and competitors, are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify their products. Their appearance does not mean that any of them is affiliated with, endorses or sponsors GateStride, or that GateStride is their dealer or partner. Comparisons reflect publicly available information on the date stated; check the other company’s current materials before you decide.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the site unlawfully or to infringe anyone’s rights;
  • scrape, crawl or copy the site in bulk, or use automated means to access it, other than standard search-engine indexing that follows our robots.txt;
  • probe, scan or test the security of the site or our systems, except as described in our responsible disclosure policy;
  • interfere with the site, introduce malware, or try to gain unauthorized access;
  • submit false, misleading or someone else’s information, including requesting a directory listing for a company you are not authorized to represent;
  • use the site or its forms to send spam or unsolicited promotions.

5. What you submit

When you submit a form, you confirm that the information is accurate and that you are entitled to provide it. If you request an integrator directory listing, you confirm that you are authorized to do so on behalf of the company and that the listing details are accurate; we may verify, decline, edit for format, or remove any listing at our discretion. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without obligation to you.

6. Our content

The site’s text, graphics, diagrams, tools and code are owned by GateStride or its licensors. You may view and print pages for your own business evaluation. You may not copy, republish or create derivative works from the site without our written permission, except for brief quotations with a link back to the source page. Some photos are licensed from third parties and remain subject to their licences.

7. Links to other sites

The site links to manufacturers, government agencies, associations and other third parties for reference. We do not control or endorse those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices; their own terms apply.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT, TOOLS AND INFORMATION ON IT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITH ALL FAULTS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GATESTRIDE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND THAT THE SITE WILL BE AVAILABLE, UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR FREE OF ERRORS, BUGS OR HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

WITHOUT LIMITING THE ABOVE, GATESTRIDE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR: ERRORS, OMISSIONS OR OUTDATED INFORMATION ON THE SITE, INCLUDING PRODUCT, COMPATIBILITY, END-OF-LIFE, PRICING, LICENSING, CODE OR LEGAL INFORMATION; CALCULATOR RESULTS OR OTHER ESTIMATES; TECHNICAL ERRORS, OUTAGES, DELAYS OR DATA LOSS; FORM SUBMISSIONS THAT ARE NOT RECEIVED; THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES, PRODUCTS OR SERVICES; OR ANY DECISION YOU MAKE BASED ON THE SITE.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GATESTRIDE AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, SAVINGS, DATA, GOODWILL OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SITE, ITS CONTENT OR YOUR RELIANCE ON IT, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THEIR POSSIBILITY. YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR ANY DISSATISFACTION WITH THE SITE OR ITS CONTENT IS TO STOP USING THE SITE; GATESTRIDE DOES NOT PAY COMPENSATION FOR USE OF THE SITE. IF, DESPITE THIS, GATESTRIDE IS FOUND LIABLE, ITS TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SITE IS LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100). THESE LIMITATIONS APPLY EVEN IF A REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN EXCLUSIONS OR LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THESE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU; IN THAT CASE OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MINIMUM EXTENT THE LAW PERMITS.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold GateStride harmless from claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site, including submitting information you were not authorized to submit.

11. Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to the site or these terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Harris County, Texas, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Any claim relating to the site must be brought within one year after it arises.

12. General

If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement about your use of the site.
