Access control integration, on top of the system you already run.
GateStride connects to your existing head-end two ways: it reads the events (who was granted, who requested exit, at which door) and it calls the unlock that system already exposes. Nothing is replaced, nothing re-certified. Here is where each integration stands today (full list: compatibility list). GateStride Verified means tested by GateStride on a live system — it is our own test program, not a certification by the manufacturer.
Let’s be clear about something: these are excellent, battle-tested, fully certified systems. The companies below have spent decades getting the hard parts — locks, egress, fire-safety, reliability — right. That is exactly why the smart move is to keep them and layer on what they were simply built before: the phone and the exit log.
Kantech EntraPass
A genuine workhorse — dependable, widely trusted, and fully certified, with a clean SmartLink interface. The kind of system you should never throw away. GateStride Verified Event read and door unlock tested by GateStride on a live EntraPass system.
Honeywell (Pro-Watch / WIN-PAK)
Decades of rock-solid reliability and one of the largest installed bases in the industry. If it’s run your doors for years, that’s a feature, not a reason to replace it. Planned
LenelS2 OnGuard
An enterprise and institutional gold standard — deep, scalable, and seriously engineered, with a well-documented OpenAccess API we respect. In development Cardholder and event integration through OnGuard’s OpenAccess API.
Software House C•CURE 9000
Trusted where security really matters — enterprise, healthcare and government. Powerful and proven; precisely the investment worth preserving. Planned
HID
The name behind so much of the industry’s credential and reader technology, and the open Mercury platform underneath many great systems. Deep respect for the standard they set. Planned HID / Mercury head-ends.
Brivo
A cloud-access pioneer with a clean, modern API and a lot to admire. Already on Brivo? GateStride adds exit tracking and fire muster on top. In development Cloud REST API and webhooks.
We build on top of them — so nothing goes to waste
GateStride doesn’t compete with the systems above; it stands on their foundation. They already did the expensive, certified hard parts — the locks, the egress, the fire-safety, years of proven reliability. We simply add the two things they were built before: the phone and the exit log. You get the best of both: a certified, trusted base and a modern front door.
- Don’t waste the investment. Your controllers, readers, wiring and panels are paid-for assets that work. Replacing them throws that capital in the dumpster to buy back features you could simply add.
- Don’t discard what’s proven. A system that has reliably run your doors for years is an asset, not a liability. Reliability is earned — keep it.
- Don’t tear out the doors. Rip-and-replace means labor, downtime, permits and re-certifying the life-safety path. An overlay is a small node at the door — the hardware stays put.
The highest value-for-money path to modern access
Look at where the money goes. Replacing means paying again for hardware you already own, plus the labor to rip it out, plus re-certification and downtime — and then a new per-door, often per-user, subscription forever. GateStride keeps the capital you’ve already spent, avoids the rip-out and re-cert, and because it connects as a single integration user it even cuts per-user fees on the system you keep — while still delivering phone unlock and exit tracking. Most capability, least spent: GateStride is simply the best value for money in access control. See the full overlay-vs-replace comparison.
Running something else?
Most modern access-control platforms expose a REST or SDK interface for people, events and door control. GateStride has a profile-driven connector that maps a new system’s API to the same four actions — read cardholders, read events, unlock a door, authenticate — so adding a brand is configuration, not a rebuild. Tell us what you run and we’ll confirm the fit.
