Upgrade / Software House C•CURE 9000

Already running Software House C•CURE 9000?

Don’t throw out a working Software House. Upgrade it.

Planned

Not available yet. Support for Software House C•CURE 9000 with iSTAR controllers is on our roadmap, but work has not started. GateStride is in early access; the only integration we call Verified today is Kantech EntraPass. See the full compatibility list.

C•CURE 9000 is built for big estates, and that is exactly why replacing it is such a heavy lift: every iSTAR panel, every reader, every door that has to be re-tested. Yet the requests that trigger replacement talk are usually modest — staff want to use their phones, and someone wants a reliable answer to “who is still inside?” during a drill. Once our integration exists, we want those answers to come from software layered on the C•CURE you already run. Keep the platform; add the missing parts.

Tell us you run Software House

An honest word on fit

GateStride is designed first for small and mid-sized businesses, especially tenants in leased space. C•CURE 9000 is mostly found in larger organisations: Software House states up to 5,000 readers per server, and an enterprise setup of one master and up to 60 satellite servers covering up to 200,000 readers. If you run C•CURE, you likely have a security team and an integrator under contract, and any change will go through them. That is fine — it is how an overlay should be introduced — but it is also why Software House sits at “Planned” rather than higher on our list. Smaller C•CURE sites, regional offices on a corporate C•CURE, and multi-tenant buildings are where we expect the overlay to be most useful.

Should you replace C•CURE?

The dates above are the most useful thing on this page, so read them first. If you are on C•CURE 9000 v3.00 or earlier, Software House’s own notice says support ends in January 2027. If you still run first-generation iSTAR Ultra or Edge, they were discontinued in December 2024 and are supported until December 2029, with G2 models named as successors. Those are real deadlines — but they point to a software update and a controller refresh within Software House, not automatically to a new platform.

Where people get over-sold is when a necessary refresh is bundled with “and while we’re at it, let’s move everything to something with phone unlock”. Ask for the two parts to be quoted separately. Our overlay-vs-replace comparison sets out what an overlay can and cannot do, so you can judge whether the second half is worth it.

How it would work on C•CURE

Planned design: a phone talks to a GateStride door node, which asks C•CURE 9000 to unlock through a partner interface; C•CURE drives your existing iSTAR controllers and locks; the GateStride center reads events for occupancy and exits Phone or watchhands-free GateStride nodeat the door C•CURE 9000partner interface iSTAR panels, readers, locksunchanged unlock request GateStride centerwho’s inside · exits · muster · audit door events credentials

Planned design. Work has not started; the interface we would use is not decided.

On the integration side, Software House’s installer includes a victor Web Service API component, it offers a C•CURE IQ SDK to certified C•CURE 9000 partners, and its Connected Partner Program says it has more than 300 technology partners. The API documentation is not public, so building this integration will mean going through Software House’s partner process. We will not claim support until we have tested it ourselves.

You would add

Hands-free phone unlock (phone, watch or tablet), a live who’s-inside list, exit tracking and one-tap fire muster — from one center across every door and site.

C•CURE keeps

Personnel records, clearances, event management, your iSTAR controllers, readers, locks, request-to-exit and fire release. The overlay would only read events and call C•CURE’s own unlock.

Phones on C•CURE today

Software House already lists phone credentials through HID Mobile Access and an integration with HID Origo Mobile Identities, and C•CURE Go Reader lets an Android device act as a reader. If those fit your site, use them. What an overlay adds is different: hands-free entry plus a record of who has left. Card and phone credentials at a free-egress door generally record only the way in, so a live occupancy list and roll call need something more.

No rip-out. No per-user mobile fees.

The GateStride design connects as a single integration and manages your people’s phones itself, so adding staff does not add mobile-credential seats on our side. Pricing is a flat quote with no per-user fees. You would still need whatever partner licence Software House requires for the integration; we will name it before you commit to anything.

Good for the system you already own

GateStride keeps your iSTAR controllers, readers and C•CURE software in service instead of replacing them with a new cloud platform. Your investment stays in use, your integrator keeps the service relationship, and your office gets phone unlock and exit tracking on top of the Software House system it already trusts.

Looking for a Software House dealer?

GateStride is independent software. We are not a Software House or Johnson Controls dealer, reseller or certified partner, and we cannot sell you C•CURE licences, iSTAR controllers or service. Start with the integrator who maintains your system; they hold your configuration and support agreement. When our integration is supported, that integrator can install GateStride on top. Integrators who want to offer it can become a partner and keep the resale margin. Software House and Kantech are both Johnson Controls brands; if part of your estate runs Kantech, that integration is Verified today.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add phone unlock to C•CURE 9000 without replacing it?
Not with GateStride yet. Software House support is planned: it is on our roadmap, but work has not started. The aim is the same overlay we run on Kantech, which reads the system’s events and calls its own unlock while the iSTAR controllers, readers and locks stay. Tell us you run C•CURE so we can prioritise it.
Is GateStride a Software House dealer?
No. GateStride is independent software and is not a Software House or Johnson Controls dealer, reseller or certified partner. For C•CURE licences, iSTAR controllers or service, talk to the integrator who maintains your system. Once our integration is supported, that integrator can install GateStride too.
My C•CURE 9000 is v3.00 or older. What should I do?
Software House has announced end of support in January 2027 for C•CURE 9000 v3.00 and earlier. Ask your integrator about moving to a current v3.x release. That is a software upgrade within the same platform, not a reason on its own to replace your doors and controllers.
Is C•CURE Go Reader the same as a mobile credential?
No. According to Software House, C•CURE Go Reader turns an Android device into a mobile reader, not a credential. For phone credentials, Software House lists HID Mobile Access and an integration with HID Origo Mobile Identities.
Do I have to tear out my doors?
No. The overlay design keeps your iSTAR controllers, readers, locks, request-to-exit and fire release. GateStride adds a small node at the door and a center in your comms room.
